Technology solutions
Data-driven decision-making
Effective decision-making requires access to reliable and relevant data to measure progress against deployment objectives, assess the condition of tree assets, and take corrective actions where required.
We offer an integrated suite of technical solutions to provide you with accurate and relevant data for tracking progress against deployment objectives, measuring environmental conditions, and optimizing the deployment of resources.
We work with our partners to offer an integrated suite of technical solutions. The tree management system provides a comprehensive overview of tree and vegetation assets. Remote monitoring solutions automatically collect data on tree assets and environmental
conditions that are fed into the tree management system.
Tree management system
A detailed and accurate inventory of trees, shrubs and groundcover serves as a centralized collaboration tool for managing project teams. This is especially important in the early years of a project where tree mortality and growth rates are closely monitored. With our technical partners, we provide a customized solution with comprehensive reporting and flexible search options. Work orders can be scheduled through the system, and data access is provided through mobile devices.
Tree Inventory System Parameters
Trees
- Asset ID number
- Location / GIS coordinates
- Tree species, genus, family
- Year planted or transplanted
- Age of tree
- Size of tree
- Canopy size
- Health rating
- Action required for O&M (and a record of past actions)
- Management notifications / escalations
- Contractor information
- Barcode/QR code integration
Shrubs and Ground Cover
- Group Asset ID number (vegetation to be assigned in groups based on sites)
- Location / GIS coordinates
- Species, genus, family
- Year planted
- Health rating
- Action required for O&M (and a record of past actions)
- Notes / observations
Remote monitoring of tree assets
Remote monitoring of tree asssets is designed to achieve several objectives:
- Map the location of existing trees, including size and species distribution
- Assess the canopy cover and vegetation
- Identify problem areas and coverage gaps (due to dead, missing or sick trees)
We work with our technical partners to conduct surveys via satellite imagery and drone overflights (according to the needs of the project). We conduct ground surveys to validate remote sensing results using proportional sampling.
Remote monitoring of environmental conditions
Remote monitoring of environmental conditions is designed to achieve several objectives:
- Track soil moisture levels to automate the irrigation schedule
- Report on microclimatic conditions
- Track air pollution
We work with our technical partners to design and install a network of remove sensors to
collect field data. The soil and air measurements are integrated with the tree management
system for speedy analysis and response.
